‘Why Innovation Fails' by Joachim De Vos nominated for marketing book of the year
The launch of ‘Why Innovation Fails – the 7 keys to success’ took place on 30 May 2022. Author Joachim De Vos, Co-chairman of Living Tomorrow, offers business leaders and policymakers a guide to the future in times of change. The book has now been nominated in the Marketing Book of the Year election, organised by BAM, the Belgian Association of Marketing.
Until the end of January, people can still vote for the Marketing Book of the Year among 10 nominated books that the BAM found most inspiring in 2022. In that selection we also find 'Why Innovation Fails – the 7 keys to success' by Joachim De Vos, Co-chairman of Living Tomorrow and professor of Scenario Planning at Ghent University.
For more than 25 years, Joachim De Vos has been sharing experiences with business leaders, policymakers and innovation teams worldwide, helping them develop what he calls 'future fitness'. In 'Why Innovation Fails', Joachim De Vos offers insights into the technological revolution and tools for a concrete approach to successful innovation. The book describes common pitfalls in an innovation process, offering a guide to the future in times of crisis and uncertainty.
Joachim De Vos welcomes the recognition, “because what we are experiencing today is not an era of change, but a change of era. So why do we so rarely succeed in being truly innovative? Why do we often stick to one-off projects instead of a structural way of working? For organisations, it is crucial to manage the rapid changes and preferably stay one step ahead. By looking to the future in the right way. With solutions like future scenarios, a culture of innovation, and ecosystems of partnerships.”
BAM, the Belgian Association of Marketing, is the largest trade association for marketing in Belgium. As a meeting place and knowledge exchange platform, it organises numerous awards, training courses, expertise, seminars and workshops every year. BAM also defends the sector's interests with the government.
