Open Construction Site Day: unique 50 meter high tower on Living Tomorrow innovation campus open to visitors for the first time
Discover together with Flemish minister Lydia Peeters how digital twins, AI and VR will help us build smarter, greener, safer and with more physical comfort in the future.

The site of the new Living Tomorrow Innovation Campus is a construction site of the future in the true sense of the word. Not just because of the futuristic tower that stands 50 meters tall and that can already be accessed up to the 11th floor but also thanks to all the innovative and sustainable techniques that are brought to bear in the construction process. That is why it gives us great pleasure to invite you to join us on Open Construction Site Day – Sunday 15 May – and discover with Flemish Minister of Mobility and Public Works Lydia Peeters how we will build in 2030, and even in 2050.

Permeable concrete, smart windows that close automatically in the event of wind or rain and on which a variety of things can be projected, exoskeletons or ergonomic electric wheelbarrows that lighten the load for construction workers, better visualisation and prediction of the building process through BIM, AI, VR and digital twins... The way in which we build will undergo fundamental changes in the years to come, with higher levels of comfort, sustainability and safety as the main anchor points.
At the new Living Tomorrow site many of these new techniques and materials are already being implemented for the construction of the new and futuristic innovation campus that meanwhile towers some 50 metres over Vilvoorde. Watch this video for a quick sneak peek.
On Open Construction Site Day on Sunday 15 May this construction site of the future will be opened to the general public for the very first time. Visitors will have the opportunity to climb to the top floors of the new tower to admire the unique view and along the way discover a variety of new building techniques implemented by our partners.
We warmly invite you to join us and visit this unique construction site. Between 10-12 a.m. Living Tomorrow founder Frank Beliën will gladly explain in detail how the construction industry will change over the next 10 to 30 years.
At 11 a.m. we will also have the pleasure of welcoming Flemish Minister of Mobility and Public Works Lydia Peeters for a site visit.
Also attending will be the mayor of Vilvoorde Hans Bonte, as well as Marc Dillen, director general of the Flemish Confederation of Construction, Jurgen Hamelryck, director of Flemish Brabant of Confederation of Construction, and many of Living Tomorrow's innovative construction partners.
See you there!
